Join our summer land stewardship interns on a guided Tree Identification Nature Walk as we explore the beautiful Green Trail at the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve. Come connect with the forest on a “deep root” level.
We will be offering this free nature walk twice this week -- on Wednesday, July 16th, from 10 a.m. to noon, and on Saturday, July 19th, from 10 a.m. to noon.
This walk will introduce you to the trees around you, from their bark and leaves to the subtle signs that reveal their species. Learn simple identification tricks, fun facts, and the ecological roles these trees play in our local ecosystem.
Whether you're a budding naturalist or just curious about the woods you wander through, this event is a great way to deepen your relationship with nature.
Bring your nature journal to record these identification tips and your camera!
All ages welcome. Sturdy walking shoes are encouraged.
