Make trails, make friends, and party!
Sunday, October 19, 2003 - 1:30 to 4:30 p.m
near Princeton, NJ

Meet at Mountain Lakes House or the Port Mercer parking lot on the canal, depending on preference.

Details On Sunday, October 19th from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Friends of Princeton Open Space invites members and interested volunteers to help create and maintain beautiful walking trails around Mountain Lakes Park and along the Delaware and Raritan Canal.  Refreshments will be offered afterward at Mountain Lakes House in the Park (located off Mountain Avenue).

Participants will start from Mountain Lakes House or the Port Mercer parking lot on the Canal (just upstream from the Port Mercer Bridge), depending on their preference.  The Canal Park cleanup will work its way northeast to Turning Basin Park at Alexander Road.  Those who come to Mountain Lakes House will work on several trail segments in the Mountain Lakes area, depending on the number of people available.

Participants should bring work gloves and wear shoes appropriate for wet areas.  Clippers would also be useful, as would “weed whackers” if the operator is familiar with their safe operation.  We welcome all who are interested in extending and cleaning up Princeton’s trail system.   If you have questions, or in the event of bad weather, please call 921-2772.
